Our Story

Chaiwala was created from a simple idea to bring the feeling of connecting over chai to Canada. Back home across South Asia, chai is never just a drink. It’s the pause in a busy day. It’s friends laughing over small stories. It’s family catching up after dinner. It’s neighbours gathering at the door, sharing warmth and time. So many of our memories began with someone saying, “Come, let’s have chai.”

When we moved here, we missed that feeling. The comfort, the togetherness, the way chai naturally brings people closer. So we set out to create a place where those moments could happen again.

At Chaiwala, we serve chai the way it’s meant to be enjoyed: rich, slow-brewed, full of heart. But more than the recipe, it’s the experience we care about.

We welcome people from every background to share in this tradition. Whether you grew up with chai or are discovering it for the first time, our hope is that you feel the warmth, the culture, and the community behind every sip.

Chaiwala is a celebration of where we come from and the connections we create here in Canada. And like all good stories, it begins with a cup of chai.
